Pam receives a small package, via a common courier service. It's not very well wrapped, and the little tag on says -- in very rough handwriting -- that it's from Jack. Inside, an automatic knife that doubles as a pair of brass knuckles.

Delivery

[A couple weeks after their conversation at Jack and Gilia's party, Huaisang sends a package to Pam's residence containing a glamorous dress and a note.]

It was a great pleasure to meet you, Miss Pam, and I look forward to seeing more of you in the future. This one is a gift, but if you find yourself desirous of any more apparel I hope you'll find your way to my shop. It would be my pleasure to dress you.

[Pam tries the dress on immediately. She can only hope she'll find a good excuse to wear it out soon or she's going to end up wearing it to watch tv just to feel like a princess. It is amazing. She bakes a batch of chocolate chip cookies and drops them off at the shop for Huaisang with a thank you card.]

It might not be poisoned but he was pissed off with me at Xmas so I can't be sure.

My sister treats me like shit and stole all my boyfriends in school. I had to deliver her illegitimate baby in our barn in her senior year. Her and my dad both resent me for moving away and getting a 'city job'.

You know. Normal stuff by comparison.

Delivering a baby is certainly something though. Were you not able to get to a hospital?

And you really shouldn't diminish your own problems like that. Just because they're not the same doesn't mean that they weren't hard for you to go through.

We lived on a farm way out in the middle of nowhere and she'd been trying to keep the pregnancy secret. Honestly, the reasons for all of it were mostly racist. Another part of why I moved away. That was just how things were there.

Oh yeah, I get that. Everybody has their own thing going on.
